New Forest Volunteer Fair

Who

New Forest National Park Authority and around 50 organisations looking for volunteers

Where

Lyndhurst Community Centre, Lyndhurst SO43 7NY

What

The New Forest Volunteer Fair attracts over 50 organisations and 750 potential volunteers to the one-day event each January.

Marking its 10th anniversary in 2020, the Fair has welcomed a total of over 4,000 visitors over the years.

Why

The Fair gives people living in and around the Forest a chance to learn about local organisations in a relaxed atmosphere.

People can listen to talks and find out about a range of opportunities from practical conservation and studying wildlife, to supporting local communities and even archaeology.

Volunteering has proven remarkable benefits for both physical and mental health.

How

Entry is free.

When

We will not be running our volunteer fair in 2021 but plan to return in 2022.

Quotes of note

“Volunteering gives people the chance to see parts of the New Forest that they haven’t before, all while making new friends, learning about this historic landscape and becoming custodians of it. They can give as much or as little time as they like.”

Richard Austin

New Forest National Park Authority Volunteer Coordinator
